Bring Justice for Jason T-Shirts! Signs to End Police Misconduct,
Racist Prosecution and Hate Crimes. Bring Bells and Blow Horns.
This will be a Peaceful Rally.
February 3rd 2009 marks ONE YEAR that Jason has been victim of a racist hate crime and a horrific racist prosecution. As the prosecution continues its violent attack on Jason’s life, we are calling on people throughout the region to join us for a DAY OF SHAME. This is our time to ensure that 30 more years of Jason’s life is not taken away and to take a stand against institutionalized racism and police misconduct everywhere!
The days events will include a National Call-In Day and a massive rally in Amherst, Massachusetts. We will be gathering at Mackimmie Dormitory on the UMass campus (the site of the hate crime against Jason) at 11:30 AM, and then Marching for Justice for Jason. There will also be a silent vigil starting at 5:30 PM at the Malcolm X Cultural Center at UMass.
Your presence is essential to our ability to stop this racist prosecution! Join us on February 3rd at UMass. We highly encourage you to mobilize a carpool, or better yet a “bus-pool” from your location to Amherst.
Please let us know if you are interested in traveling here, and we will help you find your way! Contact Dan at mobilizingforjason@gmail.com for more information.
