Dear Friends, Allies and Supporters

So much has happened in the last few weeks in the campaign for Justice for Jason.  Several motions have been filed; several decisions have been made; and a whole lot of legal jargon has been thrown around in the courts and in the newspapers.  Both the legal battle and the grassroots campaign for Justice for Jason are gaining increasing attention from lawyers, journalists, activists, and national civil rights organizations around the country.  With the public spotlight now shining bright on the legal proceedings, your support now is more important than ever.

Nonetheless, the delay in logistical legal proceedings and the lack of clarity around the time-line for the legal and grassroots campaigns, the Committee is calling on organizers, allies and supporters to join us at a Justice for Jason Potluck and Organizer Meet-Up. While continued actions, marches and demonstrations may be likely and necessary in the near future, we must now take the time to reflect and get on the same page about the direction of the grassroots campaign.
